For perfect photos, fast and simple, there’s nothing better than Canon’s new EOS Rebel XS. With powerful features including a 10.1-megapixel CMOS Sensor, Canon’s DIGIC III processor, fast shooting and more, it’s a digital powerhouse. With simple, easy-to-use controls, a compact design, a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, and Live View Function, it’s a beginner’s dream come true.

This is a test to see how video comes out on this camera, I must admit it’s stunning in my opinion.
Does anyone know if my lenses from my SLR Canon Rebel 2000 will fit a Canon Digital SLR?
If they fit on your EOS film camera they will fit on your digital camera. However the EF-s lenses that come with many digital cameras will not fit on a film camera.
My brother’s old Sony DSLR spoilt when we were on the cruise, so when we got back, he did some research for a new DSLR and decided to settle for the Canon 550D. I got the pleasure to unbox it for him as well as the lens he got. He didn’t get the kit lens because he says it’s terrible, so he got the Tamron SP AF17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II VC as his basic lens.
I understand they would not probably work on the 5D, but I was wondering if the XTI lenses would work on the 7D. I have been poking around on the website and it looks like the XTI has EF lenses. The 7D’s description said "…compatible with over 60 EF and EF-S lenses…" so I suppose I need to find a list somewhere of the compatible lenses and see if the ones I own are on the list?
Does anyone have any leads for me?
Thanks!
Any Canon EF lens will work on any Canon EOS body.
Canon EF-s lenses (such as the 18-55, 17-85, 10-22mm, the 60mm macro) will only mount on cropped sensor cameras such as the rebels, 50d series and 7d.
Making of Canon L Series 500mm F4L IS USM. Part 2 of 3 in the production of expensive camera gear. L series is Canon’s Premium lens line featuring fluorite lenses. IS refers to Image Stabilzation build into the lens, and USM refers to Ultrasonic Motor drive that makes focusing faster than older systems. Currently I’m using a Rebel XT, although I’m thinking of upgrading to an XTi or 5DMk2. This 500 with the New 5D would be a sweet combination.
This video describes the 2-3 recommended lenses when you get your first DSLR. Get the 18-55 or the 18-200, then get the 50mm.
