Albert is back at the Canon booth looking at two new point and shoots, the G11 and S90. The G11comes with a 5x zoom, 10 megapixels and a movable screen. The S90 is a smaller form factor but carries the same 10 megapixels but with no articulated screen.
Does anyone have any advice on any good lenses out there that I could use for my Rebel XTi? I already have a 35-80mm lense.
Thanks!
I just got Canon EF 75-300mm for 18 months. Went out and took some photos with it just to see what it would do. I was expecting to see some blurring since I had read the reviews and that seemed to be the biggest con on this lens. Well, I am truely surprised. I do not have a tripod yet so I braced my elbows on the front porch. I still knew that I was moving the lens around as I took a picture. But the photos came out excellent. I am using a Canon Rebel XTI. I am very happy I bought the lens. I am just an amatuer photographer but the lens did all and more than I wanted from it.

Would it be smarter to buy the T1i kit at its new dropped price, get a battery grip, & a few lenses such as the 50mm f/1.8 II & 70-200mm f/4L or would it be better to spend $100-200 more & get the T2i with its newer features & might do more justice in the long run? To be honest there isn’t a huge difference between models, just the enhanced iFCL 63-zone dual metering + 9pt AF metering system, expanded ISO range settings, & more fps/settings for the video portion. What to do? Spend more on the body less on accessories or less on the body more on accessories? Do I buy the Canon EOS Rebel T1i which you can get the kit w/ lens (standard 18-55 IS) from $650-750 then accessories or buy the brand new T2i which is $899 for the kit + additional $100-$300 for battery grip, 50mm lens, extra battery, memory card. I plan to get the "accessories" i listed for both models but the T2i kit obviously goes for a higher price & its accessories such as the battery grip & battery goes for around $30-50 more for each item than those for the T1i. Which to BUY?
It’s always better to spend a little less on a cheaper body and get better, higher quality lenses than to buy an top-of-the-line body only to hamper it with crappy lenses. With that in mind, the T1i is probably the smarter choice here.
Alternatively, if you do not need live view or video capability, the XSi gives an even better bang for your buck.

I have a Canon Rebel XS and I’m wondering how to get it so I can have an open shutter picture [no shutter speed- open for however long I want]? For example, to take the pictures with a pin light and draw things out?
Have a look in your Instruction Manual…page 75, ‘Bulb Exposures’.
